The Heights of Elgon

About this Experience

Sipi Falls doesn't announce itself. You hear it long before you see it — a low, persistent roar building as you press deeper into the Elgon landscape. Then three stunning waterfalls come into view, cascading through lush green cliffs, and the scale of it stops you in your tracks. This full-day adventure takes you on a trek through the iconic Sipi Falls series, with the option to go further — abseiling down the cliffs of the Sipi Valley, hanging above the plains with nothing but open air below you and the falls beside you. For those who take it, it is one of the most exhilarating moments East Africa has to offer. In the afternoon, the pace shifts. A guided Community Impact Walk takes you through a nearby village to see, firsthand, where the 20% Community Fund goes: local schools, clinics, and infrastructure projects built on the back of travellers who chose to come here rather than somewhere else. The day ends around a traditional Sebei campfire — storytelling, reflection, and the kind of farewell that makes leaving feel bittersweet. You will leave Kapchorwa knowing that your footprint here means something. Impact Metrics: Through the 20% Community Fund, your visit directly supports education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods for the Sebei people — the guardians of the Elgon Mountains.
