About this Experience

This immersive experience gives you a heartfelt glimpse into daily life in a traditional Kapchorwa (Sebei) homestead. Together with the mamas, you'll collect fresh ingredients from the garden, learn how to prepare a nutritious local meal and then share the results of your effort during a warm and intimate dinner with the family. Just a 10-minute drive from our Guesthouse, this activity is guided by Shadrack - our experienced native guide and storyteller - who brings the traditions, food culture, and everyday life of the Sebei community to life. Impact metrics: - Employs 4-6 women practitioners, 1 native guide/interpreter - 70% of revenue goes to women practitioners and the guide; 20% goes to the community fund (additional support from community fund for women-led initiatives) - The product helps develop culinary heritage leadership, storytelling, financial literacy - The product also strengthens indigenous food heritage, supports women's financial independence, and celebrates unity and positive family and community values
